What is included in the price of the cruise?

Why is choosing my dining time so important when I make my reservation?
Our dining times are different than on other cruises because that is also when our main conference sessions take place. While half of the ship is at dinner, the other half is in the conference session. Our Early Seating dining begins at 5:30PM and our Late Seating begins at 7:45PM. There is a capacity for each seating time based on the capacity of the main theater where the conference sessions take place. Once a seating time reaches capacity, we will not be able to move people to a different seating time. Please watch this short video to explain more.
What is not included in the price of the cruise?
- Items of personal nature (phone calls, Internet, laundry, etc.)
- Spa & beauty salon on the ship
- Soft drinks (however, Endless Bubbles bottles are available for a low price which get you unlimited soft drinks throughout the cruise)
- Any meals, events, or excursions while off the ship in port
- Airfare to and from the port
- Hotel stay in Fort Lauderdale if you choose
- Ground transportation to the hotel and/or the port
- Cruise Travel insurance (available through the reservation office for an additional fee)
Who may sail?
Please make sure that everyone in your stateroom is eligible to sail.
1. Pregnant guests who will enter the 24th week of estimated fetal gestational age at any time during the cruise will not be allowed to sail. A pregnant guest who will have not entered the 24th week of estimated fetal gestational age at any time during the cruise, must submit, prior to departure, a form from her attending physician certifying that her gestational status is in accordance with this policy, and that the expecting mother is fit to sail. It is the guest’s responsibility to provide this Pregnancy Certification Form to her physician and to follow up with its timely completion and submittal to Carnival no later than 14 days prior to sailing. Failure to submit the completed form will result in denial of boarding and no compensation will be provided. Because the safety of the pregnant mother and unborn child is our number one concern, Carnival will not accept any agreement or recommendation from the guest and/or her physician that the policy be waived. 2. Adults aged twenty-one or older may sail. The cruise line shall refuse boarding to any guest under the age of twenty-one unless the guest is:
a. traveling with a parent or guardian in an accompanying stateroom
b. traveling in the same stateroom with their spouse (legally married couples must present an official marriage license prior to or on embarkation day)
Guests not conforming to these policies will be denied boarding and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued. Sorry, there are NO EXCEPTIONS to these policies.

The Love Like You Mean It® Marriage Cruise is for husbands and wives only! Your kids will be excited to see you when you get home! No children are allowed on this cruise!

Does FamilyLife recommend Travel/Cancellation Insurance?
FamilyLife strongly recommends the purchase of travel insurance to protect your vacation. We offer coverage through TravelSafe Protect-A-Group Insurance coverage. The Comprehensive Plus Plan covers 75% for CANCELLATION FOR ANY REASON. If you would cancel your trip because of concerns from a Travel Advisory given by CDC, WHO, or State Dept. etc., the Comprehensive Plus plan will cover those reasons (subject to the rules of the policy). What kind of travel documentation will I need?
Proper travel documentation is required at embarkation and throughout the cruise and is the responsibility of the guest. Any guest traveling without proper documentation will not be allowed to board the vessel, and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued.
U.S. citizens are encouraged to show a U.S. passport. A PASSPORT is the easiest form of ID and is recommended. If you do not have a passport, you should be prepared to provide a valid government-issued photo ID (i.e. Driver’s License) and proof of U.S. citizenship in the form of a government-issued (not hospital-issued) U.S. birth certificate.
It is important that guest names on travel documents be identical to those on the cruise booking. Otherwise, proof of name change (i.e. a marriage license) AND a valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID must be presented.

If we are flying, when should we plan to arrive and depart?
Guests flying into the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) should plan to have flights arrive by 12pm on February 11th and depart at 1pm or later on February 17th.
What is the suggested time to arrive in Fort Lauderdale, FL?
Guests will be able to embark the Carnival Conquest at approximately 12:00pm on Sunday, February 11th. Please allow for any travel delays. All guests will need to be on board the ship by 3:00pm. Lunch will be served on the Lido Deck as passengers begin boarding the ship.
It will be the responsibility of each guest to arrive and register on time. FamilyLife® is not responsible for delayed flights or arrivals to the Port Terminal.

What about Shore Excursions in Amber Cove, Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay?
If you would like to purchase a shore excursion through Carnival, you may do so at the Shore Excursions desk on board the ship; however, due to some excursions having limited availability, we recommend that you reserve your excursions online prior to the cruise at www.Carnival.com/Activities. To search for an excursion online, you will need to know the name of the ship (Carnival Conquest) and the ports of call (Amber Cove, DR, Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay, The Bahamas). All questions regarding excursions should be directed to Carnival. Please note that you will need your Booking Number to make a shore excursion purchase. You will receive your Booking Number in a letter sent by mail from our Reservation Team approximately 6 weeks prior to the cruise.
Please remember to allow yourself enough time to get back to the ship before the "All Aboard" call. The ship will remain on Eastern time throughout the sailing. It is best not to rely on your cell phone or other electronic device for the time. The ship will not wait for late guests.
Will I have access to the Internet while on board the ship?
To keep you connected while at sea, satellite Internet access is available via WiFi through the Internet Café and the ship-wide WiFi network.
Open 24-hours, the Internet Café features private terminals where you have the ability to surf the Web, chat online, and access your private e-mail account (Gmail, AOL, Hotmail, Juno, Yahoo, etc.). Internet Cafe terminals run on Windows and are limited to Internet communication. The terminals are not equipped with Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, etc.).
Wireless Users - Laptops and Other WiFi-Equipped Devices
Got a laptop, an iPad, or smartphone? Got 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless capability (relax, that's just geek speak for WiFi)? The Wireless Internet Service is compatible with a Wireless 802.11b card, which is the industry standard. While on board, you may use your personal laptop, your iPhone, and all other WiFi-equipped devices and most software installed on them without restrictions.
Internet Time Plans
Instructions on how to create an account and pricing details are present on-screen in the Internet Café or on your laptop once you connect to Carnival WiFi. Internet pricing is identical, whether you are using the Internet Café terminals, your own laptop, or other wireless devices. All internet access charges will be billed directly to your onboard Sail & Sign Account. Time Plans offer our guests the opportunity to enjoy a lower per-minute rate that can be used anytime throughout the cruise until debarkation and do not have to be used in a single session. The Plan is transferable between the Internet Café terminals and personal laptops/wireless devices. A refund will not be awarded for unused minutes. Upgrading a pre-selected pricing option is not permitted and plans are subject to change.

Can I make and receive telephone calls?
For our guests' convenience, the ship's telecommunications network offers direct dialing via satellite from the stateroom telephone. This is available 24 hours a day regardless of the ship's location. This service is closed on the final day of the cruise at 4:00am. The rate is $1.99 per minute, and charges are billed to the guest's onboard Sail & Sign Account. Since all communication is via satellite, the charges apply to all calls including calling cards, credit cards, 800 toll-free numbers, and collect calls.
We know many of you would like an emergency contact number for family members not traveling with you. Therefore, in the event of a true emergency, loved ones may contact the Carnival call center at 1-800-227-6482 on a 24/7 basis. The Carnival team will take down the caller's name and contact information and pass it on to the Carnival Guest Services team on board the ship so they can extend the guest a complimentary phone call.
What should I pack?
Casual attire is the order of the day, both on board and ashore. During the daytime, most anything goes since we know you're probably headed to the pool or out for a fun Shore Excursion. Casual shorts, jeans, tops, and sundresses are welcome everywhere. You can even wear your swimsuit to the Lido Deck's poolside grill or buffet.
Resort casual dress gets you into every venue at night, too. Some people like to add a jacket, or when celebrating a special occasion, get all decked out. This, too, is welcome everywhere. And if you're tired from a long, fun day and just want to wear shorts, the Lido Deck buffet is the place for a casual dinner. Some people prefer nice jeans. They're welcome in many of the restaurants as well, but not in all.
Since you may opt to check your luggage with the porters the night before we return home, don't forget to bring an overnight bag packed with a change of clothes, prescriptions, and other must-have items.
Can I bring a radio on board?
You are welcome to bring radios, iPods, etc. for your private enjoyment. However, for the comfort of other guests, we request that headphones or ear pieces be used in public areas.
What about electrical appliances?
There is one electrical outlet in each stateroom, located in the area of the desk/vanity. The outlet is equipped with a 3-prong 110 volt and a 220 volt plug capable of handling hair dryers, curling irons, etc. The outlet in the bathroom can only be used for electric razors. Please note that the cruise line does not supply hair dryers.
Pressing and laundry services are available on board, both self-service and valet. Personal irons are not allowed on board.
Do I need to bring my own towels?
Towels are supplied for each guest in your stateroom. Towels are also available for all guests on the pool deck. You will need to check out your towels on the pool deck.
What do I do with my valuables?
We're sure you'll want to bring your camera, jewelry, and other valuable items with you on your cruise. For our guests' convenience and security, a safe is provided in every stateroom and is located in either the closet or a cabinet. Guests use their room key as the key to lock and unlock this safe. Please note, however, that FamilyLife® is not responsible for valuables left in staterooms or elsewhere on board.
Where is the lost and found?
The Lost and Found is located at the Guest Services Desk. If you've lost anything, you should report the item to the Guest Services Desk and ask if it has been returned yet. If you find anything, please turn it in there. After the ship returns to your port of origin, all found and unclaimed articles will be sent to the company headquarters where they can be claimed.
What about my medications?
Please carry your required medication in your pocket or purse so that it will be available when needed. Checked luggage may not be accessible at all times. If you're using any prescription drugs, vitamins, or other medication on a regular basis, you should bring an adequate supply with you since these may not be readily available either on board the ship or in our ports of call. Over-the-Counter medications for cold, cough, upset stomach, or other minor illnesses can be purchased at the Medical Center during specified hours. In addition, the shops on board may carry some of these items.
Should you need to store medicine that needs proper refrigeration, medi-coolers are available on board in limited quantities and on a first-come, first-serve basis. If a medi-cooler is not available, the ship’s Medical Center will arrange storage. In addition, a small, personal-sized cooler no larger than 12” x 12” x 12” for the purpose of housing medications is permitted as carry-on luggage.
Is there a medical staff on board?
Yes, should a guest require medical attention while on board the ship, the Medical Center staff is available to assist 24 hours a day. The onboard Medical Center is staffed and equipped to treat routine medical conditions as well as to initiate stabilization of more serious conditions. Physicians are available to render services at a customary fee. While at sea or in port, the availability of medical care may be limited.
Will I get seasick?
The ship is equipped with stabilizers which are designed to keep it smooth and steady in the water. Should you have a concern about seasickness, please consult your doctor in advance of the cruise. If you should feel seasick while on the cruise, you can purchase motion sickness tablets from the Medical Center on board.
Will there be an event schedule available for the cruise?
You will receive a copy of the official FamilyLife® Cruise News upon boarding the cruise. This will give you a list of all the events for the week.

Can we save seats at the onboard sessions?
No. FamilyLife® wants all guests to have the same opportunity to get great seats in our events. Therefore, we have established a policy of no saving seats. From the leadership of the ministry, to the performers and their families, to our media partners, to our staff, and to our passengers, we have the same policy. No one has early access privileges. Once in an event, there is no saving of seats for other members of your party. All seating is done on a first-come, first-serve basis. The only exception to this policy is for guests who are confined to a wheelchair (for venues where wheelchair-specific seating is applicable).
When is the appropriate time to ask for an autograph?
There will be scheduled times when you will have the opportunity to attend “Artist & Speaker Autograph Sessions.” To accommodate as many guests as possible, each guest will only receive one autograph from each performer. Specific locations for each performer can be found in your copy of the FamilyLife® Cruise News which you will receive upon boarding the ship. Please note that there is a possibility that you will get only some of the performers' autographs due to time constraints, so be sure to get in line early!
Remember that our performers are here to relax and rejuvenate also. We want to respect their personal time with their families, therefore, we ask that passengers ONLY approach a performer for an autograph during the official autograph sessions.
Will artist and speaker merchandise be available for sale on the cruise?
The FamilyLife® Store will be open at various times throughout the cruise. Look in the FamilyLife® News for the schedule and location. You can shop for CDs, artist T-shirts, books, and other specialty items. While you are there, don’t forget to purchase your Love Like You Mean It Marriage Cruise® T-shirts and souvenirs, too!
What activities will be available on board the ship?
Too many to mention in this short space! The beauty of the Love Like You Mean It® Marriage Cruise is that you can do as little or as much as you want to do. In addition to the typical cruise activities and amenities, there will be nightly concerts, morning devotions, comedy, and autograph sessions.
Will the ship’s casino and bars be open during the cruise?
Yes. The ship operates a casino, bars, and stores (formality shop, hair salon, spa, and gift shops) on the ship. These entities are operated by the cruise line or outside vendors contracted by the cruise line. FamilyLife® and its affiliates do not endorse any particular entity. Non-alcoholic and soft drink beverages will be available throughout the ship during the cruise.
